Hi there,

Yesterday I tried to update my bios with 1002 using M6E ezflash but could not get boot screen after with code 62. Then tried with bio0903 and same issue. So rolled back to bios 0804 using the usb flashback and its back to normal.

Any thoughts or anyone else come across this isse?

Thanks!

Hey mojobear you good mate? Yeah I think that there is a bit of code in the last two bios that were changed to fix user errors is borking working systems. I have bumped this upstairs and they are looking at it. I would just stay with what works. Guess my old mantra of do not flash bios unless you are trying to fix stuff is still valid.

Thanks guys for the feedback it is valuable to get.

Thanks for bumping this bios upgrade raid SSD problem upstairs!

Yip you can go back Breimeister and no worries that is what the forum is for, to listen to and try and sort out ROG members issues. 🙂

Hey HiVizMan. Just an FYI I am not running a RAID setup and my issue with 1002 was that every three or 4 boots I would get error 62 just before the Windows 7 boot splash screen would appear (The colored balls coming together to form the Windows logo) my PC would reboot and on next start up it would then start Windows 7 Ok although I did get the Windows prompt 'Your PC was shut down unexpectedly so you want to start normally or run repair?"
1002 did fix my speed issues with B2 and hard freezes however I could not run my PC with the 62 errors I was getting. I flashed back to 0804 and moved my 2nd 780GTX to PCI8X_3 and no longer get the error 62. In the BIOS all I ever set is XMP and disable on board, Audio, Bluetooth and WiFi. No overclocking of my CPU, it was my intention to OC it originally, but at this point all I care about is having a stable PC to game with as my PC is purely used for gaming.
So to summarize, to have a stable PC at this point I am running BIOS 0804 and have moved my 2nd GTX780 to PCI8X_3 (slot below the black b2). Thank god ASUS provide a decent length flexible SLI connector with the Maximus VI Extreme!! that is a very good thing to do!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention that with BIOS 1002, my PC also would randomly get 62 errors with my 2nd card in PCI8X_3.

Yeah mate ASUS are very aware of the issue with the dual cards and trust me are working hard to sort it out. Big thanks again for taking the time to detail your concerns and what you have done to sort them out.

No problems, again a big thank you for coming back to me so quickly it is much appreciated. It is also reassuring to know that ASUS are looking into the issue. I will sit back and wait for a new BIOS to fix this, in the meantime I am happy my PC is stable with the card in PCI8X_3 and BIOS 0804.
