Hello,
My PC was working with the ASUS Maximus VII Formula motherboard but the day i decided to switch out CPU fans, it is not working now. The fan I am using to replace the fan that comes with the processor is - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan
I have tried RMAing both the motherboard and processor in case something I did made it not work. Both have came back to me now and I am still unable to get it to work sadly.
I am running out of ideas on what to do besides sending the motherboard back for another RMA. I have tried running with the minimal requirements, with an HDMI cable for monitor display instead of putting a graphics card, and everytime i get similar results.
The Q-code table shows me a bunch of codes and it never stays on a certain code. This part is frustrating me the most because I cannot determine what is causing the problem because it keeps switching. I uploaded it on youtube and this is what it looks like when I try to run the PC.
I dont think that the pins are bent. Visually they look fine.
Processor - Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150 PSU - EVGA 220-P2-1000-XR 80 PLUS Platinum 1000 W RAM sticks - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - used at least one on its own and I have tried using HyperX Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - used at least one on its own Graphics - EVGA G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 770 DUAL SuperClocked 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support w/ EVGA ACX Cooler Video Card 02G-P4-2776-KR and I also used for trying to boot up the PC GIGABYTE GV-N960G1 GAMING-2GD GeForce GTX 960 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support ATX Video Card
These parts works fine with my other motherboard and processor (and AMD motherboard) and it certainly was working with the ASUS one before I tried replacing the fan. Please help me 😞
Powering it up without the hsf on the cpu and no memory installed certainly isn't helping your cause any. If intel saw this video they've void your warranty for sure. I run a hyper 212 evo and it has a spring loaded base so you can't over tighten it on the cpu. The red flashing lights are a dram warning seeing that you don't have any installed and are attempting to post. The qcode should run up to a problem and then halt on it allowing you to look it up in the table so you should put the hsf and memory back in and try it again. If that doesn't work then check all connections and look for a ground, perhaps one of the power leads has backed out of a connector.

I see you have one Dimm in the first slot A1, which should be in DIMM slot A2 as recommended in your manual. Try switching to different slots and with different DIMMs. You will run into major issues if you continue powering up with no CPU cooler. As Puffnstuff says, you will void your Warranty and its not good practice.

I did have it have the hsf on, it just happened to be a video recorded before i placed it on because i was hoping that would tell me that the cpu is too hot and turns off afterward but it did not.
I did try the different DIMMs one by one and it was all the same result 😕 even though the manual says use the slot A2. Checked all connectors and it looks to be okay as well.
