Hi guys, I just got a new CPU, my last one fried for an unknown reason. I was OC'ed before with 4.4 ghz. I fanagled with bios settings for like 4 hours and I just happened to get lucky where I was able to get good temps and a stable OC....but my bios settings were erased recently when I was having trouble with my pc and I reset CMOS.

Anyway I really don't know what I'm doing so I wanted to ask you guys here, because the OC settings on the VI are so robust it's really intimidating and being that my last CPU was fried, I'm very wary of doing things correctly this time. When I spoke to Intel they seems to think I just purchased a lemon chip but still...

It's an i5 4670k Costa Rica

Have you read this guide: http://rog.asus.com/299122014/overclocking/5ghz-4670k-4770k-overclocking-guide-on-maximus-vi-formula...

Like the article says, depending on the chip you have will determine how far you can push it. The Silicone Lottery.

First ensure stability at stock frequency, then tune for performance.
