Can't install Intel Rapid Start Technology Software

WebMaximus

Downloaded and tried installing Intel Rapid Start Technology Software V3.0.0.1031 for Windows 7/8 32bit & 64bit for my Maximus VI Formula motherboard but I get an error message saying something like

"Your PC does not meet the minimum requirements to install this software..."

I have also enabled IRST in UEFI/BIOS.

Why do I get this error?

I also have the same issue.

I'm running windows 8.1 and I can't do it (never try to do it before).

I read it's maybe I have the "RAID" option under the HDD configuration in BIOS. Apparently, it's only available with AHCI mode.

Please download the version from your motherboard support page that matches your OS, that should help.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I'm downloading for w8.1, which is the os on my mobo. Still won't install.
IRST_Win7_8_VER12701036\V12.7.0.1036_20130710_WHQL\V12.7.0.1036_20130710_WHQL will install but not IRSS_Win7_8_VER3001031

Not sure if this will help but - after a quick google search - I found this topic in another forum:

http://www.win8forums.com/threads/rapid-start-wont-install.1309/

In it - there is a post which links to this document: http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/rapid_start_technology_user_guide.pdf

I recommend reading the forum posts though to have a complete understanding of the issue being discussed to see if it is relevant to you.

first you must activate Intel Rapid Start in the bios. Then you have to install your OS on your hard drive and use the SSD as cache, create some partitions bla bla bla, in order to install that crap. You dont need it.

crap its a useless driver anyway i used it and it never boosted my HDD they say it makes the hard drive thing moves in different way on the disk
but i guess western digital knows how to run their drivers so be it maybe they wil come up with a good driver later
