Can I run a GTX 108o0 TI on a Maximus V Extreme

I have a ASUS Maximus V EXTREME and wanted to replace my 2 x ASUS GTX680-DC2-4GD5 with a ROG STRIX GTX1080TI 11G GAMING along with a 4k or widescreen monitor and wondering if there are any issues. I have seen some results in 3dmark showing a user with this setup.

I know my setup is old and I plan on getting a Maximus IX Hero with an i7-7700k and some form of DDR 4 either 3200 or 3600. All in time.

Thanks in advanced

Should work just fine.
As for performance from the rest of the system, I wouldn`t worry to much. The 3770K isn`t that bad.

That will work fine. Possibly the CPU would hold the GPU back a bit at 1080p (but nothing you would notice gaming at 60fps) but at 4K the GPU will be the limiting factor not the CPU.

Just OC the CPU 😉

Thanks XIIIIX and Arne Saknussemm for the feedback,

Yeah I know the CPU will hold me back and even DDR3, but I plan on replacing the Motherboard, CPU and Memory soon
