[Bug Report] Maximus VII Hero - Microphone Issues

Hey Folks,

Recently I installed the new audio driver release from ASUS / ROG

Realtek Audio
Audio:GM:V6.0.1.7829_GM_StudioSound_SonicSuite_2.2.25_SonicRadar_2.1.3301.0

This driver bundle broke my microphone usage. Windows 10 simply would not detect the microphone.
I confirmed that the correct microphone was set to default, and speaking into the microphone would return nothing from Windows.
The microphone was not muted, or disabled.

Turning on "Listen to this device" would return no sound when speaking into my microphone, however, when I opened Realtek HD Audio Manager, I could indeed enable microphone playback and listen to the microphone.
Somehow the new drivers have blocked Windows and other programs from using the microphone.
Attempting to use the microphone in games would not only fail, but would actually crash some games (ex. Rocket League)

I also completely uninstalled the new drivers, then reinstalled them with the same problem.

Reinstalling 6.0.1.7525 IMMEDIATELY fixed the issue.

Please test your drivers before release ASUS.

I would also like to add that this Audio driver conflicts with Maxwell NVIDIA card's ShadowPlay. The videos recorded do not have audio and some games will not have audio with ShadowPlay on. Some game will crash as soon as you try to save game play footage. I uninstalled this driver and ShadowPlay was restored to full functionality. I then reinstalled the previous driver and ShadowPlay was still fully functional.

I also had this problem and was able to fix it by disabling all sound effects for the microphone enhancements tab.

Your post is two months old but i figure someone else will be googling this problem down the line.
