BSOD 124 / Gene-Z / Voltage issue?

Hey,
This is my first post so apologies if i dont have all the information here.

I built a new rig a week ago but there is one problem i cannot seem to shake.
every once in a while i get a BSOD 124. it usually happens after a certain time of gaming OR when the computer goes to sleep and wakes up.
I tried running prime95, it crashed after 3,4 tests, didnt complete 1 cycle -
I tried playing around with the voltages, Vcore and VCC, i have vcore set at 1.320v and vcc at 1.0875v and it ran prime95 for ~15-20 cycles so there's definitely some improvement there but its still crashed when i wake up in the morning.
Should i increase the voltages even more? i dont have any massive OC going on, i just ran the auto tuning.

my system specs are:
- Maximus IV Gene-Z
- Intel i7 2600k
- GTX 580
- G.Skill 8GB

Any help would be great, losing my mind here! 😕

BTW - i ran memtest and the RAM did not show any errors, also graphics card seems to be ok, i ran some performance tests and it didnt show any errors.

Yes increase VCCIO to about 1.10V and then try a bump to Vcore if that does not help.

Ok just ran it at vcc-1.1 and it failed prime95. when you say bump the CPU voltage by how much? what would be the limit?

Ok,
I'm at vcc 1.1v and vcore 1.335v and its been running Prime95 large ffts for the past 18 hours with no crashes so it seems to be working fine now.

during the test i noticed that im at 4.3GHz... but i've only done the auto tuning - is that possible? >_<

are there any other tests that i can run to ensure that my system is stable?

LinX and Folding@Home are also pretty decent stressers for a CPU. If you decide to Fold, ASUS has a team...and a contest coming up 🙂
