I have a crosshair v formula z mobo, and up until today was running windows 8 on two samsung ssd's in raid 0 with no trouble.
The trouble began when I took an intel ssd from my old computer and installed it so I could install Ubuntu 14.0.2. I ran into issues with GRUB and had to try several different instal options before I finally got it working. The boot option always came up under Ubuntu (one) and since one was the name of my raid volume I assumed it had something to do with my trouble, so I ended up unhooking the sata cable from the 6 port and into 8 since 8 had no raid support. Got the issue hammered out eventually (not sure if the location of the sata port was the issue to begin with) and got Ubuntu installed, only to find that my windows instal on the raid volume was nowhere to be found. Not in Ubuntu and not on the bios. Tried moving the sata cable for the intel drive back to 6, just for ****s and gigs, and now it no longer shows up either.
I would LOVE to be able to get my raid volume back, but at this point I would be happy with suggestions on how to get the mobo to recognize hard drives again. I tried getting to the raid utility, and I've tried f5. I assume the very small red button under reset is the CMOS reset. I could be wrong, but I held that bad boy down for a hot minute just to see. Finally I had to leave for work, so I shut it all down , unplugged it and popped out the battery. Gonna get back to troubleshooting when I get home. Just hoping for input, or maybe someone who has run into a similar issue.
Any advice would be appreciated.
