Boot mgr is missing on Vertex 4

Recently i did a fresh install of W7 64 Bits on an OCZ Vertex 4 128GB. Unfortunately when booting up the message appears: Reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

1: I did all the driver updates from The ASUS site (AREX4) including SATA. That didn't solved the problem;
2: I did a driver update with Driver Genius Prof but the problem remains;
3: On the internet i didn't find the answer to solve this problem because reinstalling W7 didn't work.

I can only start up in the bios when i put the OCZ Vertex 4 prior to other discs. After closing W7 a reboot shows the same message: Reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

Who can help me to solve this?:confused:

When you did the fresh install of Win7 on the Vert4, what other drives were connected to the board ? ... always best if "none".
... what drive letter is assigned to the Vert4 ? ... C: ?

Might want to post a screenshot pic of Disc Management ...

Have you tried running Startup Repair ? ... Boot to Win7 Install disk -> System Recovery Options -> Startup Repair ...

Try loading up Command Prompt and enter bootrec /fixmbr

The bootrec is not recognized as an internal or external assignment..

Ok never mind all that, I just had a look at your screenshot lol. The reason you're having problems finding a "Boot Device" is because what you now have as your A: was once your original Boot drive am I correct? your new C: has not got the 100MB System Reserved Partition on it which is what holds your Boot Files, MBR, Recovery Tools etc. What you need to do, is disconnect your other SSD and your HDD's and perform another clean install to your new Vertex SSD....making sure to format the drive before installing. And when you have installed Windows, make sure your BIOS has selected your new Vertex 4 as the Main Boot Device.

Good luck 🙂

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

Disconnect all drives except the Vertex 4. Secure Erase the Vertex 4, reinstall Windows and when done reconnect the other drives.
