so I don't break anything how do i do this?
Please clarify which is your MB, as there are different methods for flashing Bios.
As you have Bios 1302, I assume you are Formula Z. If so go here:
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_V_FORMULAZ/HelpDesk_download/Download latest Bios file (2101) to an empty USB stick, formatted to FAT32.
Also at the same time, download the renaming tool from Bios Utilities, to the same USB stick.
Activate the renamer and it will convert the Bios file to ***.CAP. extension. Check it has done its job.
Power down your system so that only the green light on your MB is lit up.
Insert the USB stick into the ROG Connect port on your IO panel.
Press the Bios Flash button for 3 secs till it starts flashing ( Its the button with 2 little race tracks) and let it do its job.
When it stops flashing you are done and can reboot into Bios and set to defaults.
This is the safest method, Do not cut power to your system during Bios flash.
Should you have CHV and not Z then come back for different instructions.
