BIOS experience share

I feel this deserves a thread, as the experience may vary.

I have been testing R4E bios.
namely from 1005 to 1305

I have found my Vcore requirement to be higher in 1305.
I am not very sure is this entirely because of the BIOS, but it did happen on the same day I upgraded, so I have nothing else to blame after chasing around other uncertainties.

Now, I see 1404.. and I feel reserved. even more soon on 2003.

Anyone care to share their experience on the BIOS versions? and which they liked best for Overclocking or 24/7 use?

The way you have gone about it is the best method of finding out. Test for yourself. The reason I am saying that is because each and every system is unique, even if the exact same components are used in all the systems. No two will work the same.

Me I have stopped changing BIOS and stuck with 1005.

Is that the best? Not sure about that, but it works really well for me and my system so why change 🙂
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

About my system can be said

1005 is OK but lack of stability in PCIE 3.0 x 16 Mode with HD7970 Quad or Tri SLI usage.
1101 is very badass for OC
0015b is perform well it RAM Overclocking
0016b is nothing different but may strongly support DDR3 2400+
1202 is OK with everything same as 0015b + 0016b
1305 is idiot for Overclocker , it took more Vcore , Vccsa , CPU Pll for stable above 4.8GHz+ and 125MHz+ Bclk
1404 is some how 1305 with lower Vcore , Vccsa , CPU Pll usage and trying to support GTX6XX in PCIE 3.0 x 16 but failed in actual.
You need to go with patched registry tool.

The Best of mine was 1404 MOD. Very smart and awesome from our friend here! Still love his intelligence for all mankind with ROG X79 family. BOLTS4BREKFAST BIOS MOD is king

1005 or 1101 are the best bios in my system

For me I make sure the system work for me and not be the slave for it. Each bios upate will sure cause some confusius. But each time I feel a challenge to me.
Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.

For me BIOS 1005 is best. Moving beyond that messed with my stability. Unless a BIOS offers some seriously improved functionality or corrects a current problem, it's best in my opinion to stay put. I tried 1101 and 1202 but reverted to 1005 and stayed put. Haven't even tried 1305 or 1404 as they did not offer any new functionality.

RIVE BIOS 1404 here for some time, no problems at all!
