Best CHV Phenom bios?

Sniffy

Hey all,

Im switching my 8150 out for a 960T and I'm wondering what the best bios for it is. My board shipped with 0705, I'm wondering if maybe I should revert back to that? Any Phenom users have experience they can share?

Thanks!

with the 1102 bios i experienced randomn hard resets, especially under load so i reflashed to back to 0705. looking back at previous posters
there are others who run bios later/including 0813 with phenom cpus but for me 0705 works (knock on wood).

edit: back to bios 1102. figured out the randomn lockups/reboots due to wrong ram timings. my system is not overclocked but running ram at 7-8-7-20 @1600mhz

I just can't keep it cool. I have an H60 and a case with decent airflow but my ambients are around 28c atm and I can't keep the thing cool enough in Prime to test for stability. The rad gets saturated and the temperatures just slowly climb and never stop. Got to 83c on the cores once before I stopped it, and this was only at 1.41v.

The power consumption is out of control on FX chips, I suppose doesn't matter to much if you can control the heat but unfortunately I'm unable to.

as for my V with a T1100 .. I stopped updating the bios at 506 and it thinks its a clock.c. (it runs good)

With my FX-8120 Im running 1102 with no issues. Im not sure if there would be any differences for a Phenom that might create a problem, or if there would just be something that was chip to chip.

Truthfully I'd go back to your original BIOS. the newer BIOS's are for the Bulldozer chips and there have been a lot of reported problems where people had to step back to the 705.

Hi!

My board shipped with version 0813, but i've updated to version 1003.
I have the same CPU as you (960T) and with 1102 i had some issues related with the core unlocking function but you might give it a try anyway...

I also had some issues overclocking the CPU by increasing the CPU Ratio (higher than17.0) whith any BIOS version since 0813 (i never flashed a previous one) but decreasing the cpu ratio or/and increasing the CPU Bus it's all good.

Can you tell me if you have the same "problem"?
