Bad PCIe lane?

Just installed a second Titan in lane 3 (B2). Power connected and SLI bridges installed. The second card is not recognized. The PCIe lane light on the motherboard is not lit up. Bad PCIe lane???? Ideas? Thanks.

Is the PCIe switch for that lane turned on? Have you tried the card in the first slot?

Do you have any of the PCI-E lanes 4 & 6 occupied? (sound card, RAID card etc.)

If so, lane 3 (B2) will be disabled

/T.

This was my thought also but the system details don't list any other PCIe devices.

Yep, you are right. I have a sound card in slot 6 deactivating that third slot. Missed that in the manual. Thanks.

The funny thing is how many folks will actually be helped by this thread. Many search engines crawl this forum and toss out ROG threads hight up the listings. So thanks for posting and thanks for confirming what the solution or cause in this case was.

This is the reason why folks should post their question in the open forum and not PM staff or other members for help. Others learn from our experiences and all benefit as a result.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Yes, agreed. I call myself reading the manual previously on this type of installation, but I guess I just forgot about it.

Thanks again for the help.
