Typically the manuals say CPU or Chipset above the various m.2 sections, but this manual and website do not state it clearly. Do both M2s on the B650E-I have direct connections to the CPU? So it seems a full x16 for the GPU and full x4 for both m.2s are not gated by any chipset on this board and connect directly to the CPU. Correct?
Even the SATA ports are listed under CPU and not chipset:
Total supports 2 x M.2 slots and 2 x SATA 6Gb/s ports*
AMD Ryzen™ 7000 Series Desktop Processors
M.2_1 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280 (supports PCIe 5.0 x4 mode)
M.2_2 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280 (supports PCIe 4.0 x4 mode)
2 x SATA 6Gb/s ports
*AMD RAIDXpert2 Technology supports both PCIe RAID 0/1 and SATA RAID 0/1.
Compare that to the Gene (discontinued unfortunately), which is quite similar but has its SATA ports conneted to the chipset, not CPU:

Can someone from ASUS confirm please?

Hi @ECC_4_ALL
Yes, I can see why you'd be confused compared to other boards as it only lists the CPU. I would take this to mean both M.2_1 and M.2_2 slots are wired to the CPU.

Hoping I can take that as verification seeing as you're a mod. I don't want to guess 😛
So the 2 SATA ports are also direct to CPU, or we're assuming they're behind the chipset?

Take it as confirmation on the M.2 slots. I'd need to verify with RD regarding the SATA ports.

I'm having trouble understanding the bifurcation pages referenced in the manuals. For this board what is there to bifurcate? Can you use 2 M.2s without bifurcating lanes at the same time you use the one PCIe x16 slot? Thanks.
