Asus X79 Formula (Ram problem)

Hi everyone!

I have been several weeks with this problem with the motherboard.
Asus Formula 79 detects only 12gb . 16 gb installed (4x4gb Gskill Ripjaws Z 2133Mhz 16 GB 9-11-10-28-2N)
When buying Gskills memories 2133MHz tested and 100% compatible for socket 2011 with the 2105 bios there was no problem as I detected 16 gb smoothly.
These days I've been doing a lot of testing and I think these Asus RoG board is somewhat delicate with Ram issue in other forums and read similar cases touristy as Solution have had to make a plate.

Tests conducted so far and all equal in bios = 12Gb RAM Memory:

1º Rams in exchange in all the slots and always detects 12Gb. Probe one again and always same result.
2º Tested with both bios.
3ºUpdate to the latest bios 4002 and 4104.
4º Charge the backup bios 2105 and Clear CMOS.
5ºFrom the bios 5th load two XMP profiles.
6º Gskill Ripjaws Z 2133Mhz tested in another motherboard work correctly.

Here I leave the images that demonstrate the case.

Since I can only remove the socket and see if there is any bent pin. But it is strange if I do not tear the Pc.

Sorry for my bad English

Best Regards

To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Now to help you out.

Could you please test each stick or ram individually, so test one stick at a time. Maybe one stick is not working.

If you finish that and all sticks are working good.

Then try with two sticks. Test with one stick and then add one stick. If the second stick is picked up and works add one more. See which slot is not working with 4 sticks.

Hi xenxo_80

I would take out the CPU and reseat...it is possible that the CPU has shifted over time or a pin has warped...

But I would also try one stick of RAM in each slot to see if there is a slot that has died on the MB....

What cooler do you have on the CPU?

You could also blow some compressed air into the slots make sure they are clean...
