Hi, I have an old Asus X5DINseries laptop, KDIN motherboard (seen from Debian terminal I'm not 100% sure) on which I installed Debian 12.
The problem is that the bios is the factory one and when I tried to update it via Utility (Easy flash 1.14) it didn't work, black screen. The bios is the factory 207, pendrive formatted in fat32, put on the bios downloaded from the Asus site, I insert the pendrive, launch the utility and a black screen comes out, it doesn't go forward. I tried to change pendrive, all the USB ports, but nothing. (I would leave it like this, but the old bios version has't very features: wake on lan option, the one for hibernation...). I also tried to read different guides, but asus provides bios .211 es files, which are incomplete, even if I wanted to do an update via pendrive using freedos, I read around I have never done it, I do not have a starting bios .bin from which to rebuild it, I would like to act via software if possible, without external programmers. I hope you can help me, I download also the manual of pc from asus site, which also describes the procedure for updating bios via utility, but it does not work for me, greetings and thanks.
