Hi there, I am new to this forum so I don't know if I am posting in the right place, so my apologies if that is the case.
I have just finished off constructing my new build however the PC boots, no display available and my MB just shows qcode 00 which according to the manual it says "not used" I have done some research and apparently it could be the MB not recognizing the processor, however I purchased the MB and CPU in a bundle and I have done a BIOS flash back to the latest version of the ASUS website via the USB flashback feature on the MB. This build was just shy of a grand and I am completely stuck, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my build below;

Intel I7 4790K Haswell
Asus VII Maximus Ranger
Gigabyte GTX970 3x windforce
Kingston 240gb SSDnow
Seagate barracuda 1tb x2 (only 1 in atm)
fractal design R4 define case
Crucial Ballistix sport 8gb ddr3 1600mhz X2
and a Hyper evo TX3 CPu heatsink.

Many thanks for your help in advance,

Regards,

Owen

hello owenb94 and welcome

Make sure you have the 8 pin cpu power cable connected to the motherboard.

Code 00 is a tough one to pinpoint. it can be caused by your motherboard grounding out, an over tightened cpu cooler, or bent cpu socket pins.

A faulty psu or motherboard will cause code 00. A dead cpu will cause code 00.

Your motherboard and cpu should work out of the box.

Hi there Nate,

Thanks for the quick response, the 8pin power connector is attatched however I do remember struggling to get the heatsink on to the MB, I accidentally bought a CPU cooler that was optimized for LGA1156 and 1155 sockets rather than 1150, could this be the issue?
I can try using the stock CPU cooler if so?

Many Thanks

You're welcome

Yeah you can try the stock cooler and while your changing it, remove the cpu and inspect the socket pins with a magnifying glass in good light to see that ALL the pins are evenly spaced and look in order.

Look close and carefully.

What cooler did you get? The mounting bracket may be interchangeable.
