Hi all,

Following the massive price drop, I am going to order an FX9590 (€300). Is this CPU going to work on my motherboard - Sabertooth 990FX rev. 1 with the latest official BIOS version, 1604?

Some interesting figures re the FX-9590

36352
36353

And these graphs show what i'm saying.

The FX-9590 is just a binned FX-8350 some say, but I don't think that's all AMD did, They certainly didn't do it for a flight of fancy.

The original released price for this unit was ridiculous, as you see in the pics, But now you can pick one up for around $350-360 if your lucky and can negotiate.

For your MB an FX-6300 would have been a better choice imo. Many have gone for the FX-8350 still with some difficulties.

Like I said its a beast!!!!

Have had the same experience with just a Phenom II 980 on a Crosshair Formula V. You can take careful precautions and hardware CAN and WILL fail.
