Hi ROG Forums.
Few days ago I purchased Asus Rampage IV Extreme in uknown condition.I was able to boot up and install Windows on BIOS No.2 without any issues.Out of curiosity I switched to the BIOS No.1 and PC does not want to show anything besides black screen.
Power supply is clicking and power cycling. So I felt sad, I treat these devices like they are my kids.
I suppose that first BIOS is corrupt,
So what is the most convient way to try to save the motherboard I mean to make the board work even with first BIOS.
I suppose I need to reflash the BIOS.Could someone give me link to the file and procedure how to do it?
Is the procedure over ROG Connect key and USB port or I am using Asus Crash Free BIOS option?
Which BIOS do I copy to USB drive, since I don't own motherboard DVD.
Someone please write me whole procedure on how to try to recover the board and its BIOS No.1
Thank you.

Hello frozen_sun
Flashing bios 1 should fix it.
Grab a usb flash drive and make sure it's formatted to the .FAT32 file system and preferably with nothing on the usb flash drive.
Download the latest bios 4901. - RAMPAGE IV EXTREME - Support
Follow this video to put the bios file on your usb flash drive and to rename it.
Once you have the bios file on your usb flash drive:
1) Shut down your pc and let the psu switch on.
2) Insert your usb flash drive into the ROG Connect usb port (marked yellow).
3) Press and hold the bios flashback button (marked yellow) until the led starts blinking, then release.
4) When the blinking stops the update has completed, start your pc.

Aha okay.So I switch to the corrupted BIOS before flashing?
And leave all the components on motherboard,CPU,RAM,GPU?
On this motherboard that button is called ROG Connect Switch, I suppose you meant on that (marked with yellow)?

Yes, switch to bios 1 and let everything installed.
Yes, bios flashback button = ROG Connect switch.
Let us know if all is well after flashing bios 1.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

So I press the button and release, then ONLY the button starts flashing for just like 1 to 2 seconds then it stops.
What am I doing wrong?
I power on the PC after that, but still same issues.

Here, if I long press the button, it becomes green.
Here is what I did as described above.

My USB Pen drive is 16GB and FAT32,brand new,I flashed my Z690F/Strix Gaming with it.

Thank you for the video.
The blinking should go much longer. It should work unless there is physical damage to the bios chip.
Double check you renamed the bios file to R4E.ROM

Does the button need to be in green color or not?
I mean pressed to ON (green) or OFF (no color).
Yes I did renamed it correctly, but file this is type .cap file just like in your video.

The button should be solid green, then when the update starts, it will start flashing and should blink for a minute or more.
I'm not sure why it's not updating, but something to try is another usb flash drive if you have one.

Yes, I have but don't have 8GB flash drives.
But will check again, I know many suggest 8GB flash drive.
It is weird, like, the flashing starts and it stops immediately.
I used this flash drive for flashing BIOS on my other Asus board so I know it is good, but will try other one tomorrow.
Thank you for help, will report back.
I have checked the chip and don't see any hardware issue.
