ASUS MVE - disconnecting headphones from Front Panel enables speakers in Stereo mode

Hi!

This seems to be the last issue I noticed with Realtek HD software. wondering if there is some setting I am missing or it's just the way it is.

I run 5.1 speaker system connected to rear jacks (3 plugs) and a Front panel audio connector plugged to case front jacks. Whenever I plug in headphones into front panel in my case the rear outputs are correctly disabled (there is an option for that in Realtek HD settings which is ticked) and audio mode gets toggled to Stereo (good for headphones).

My problem is that whenever I unplug the headphones from Front Panel jacks then the speakers (connected to rear ports) get re-enabled in Stereo mode (instead of 5.1) ... annoying, because I have to manually toggle the audio mode to 5.1 whenever unplug headphones ...

any fix for that?

Thanks!

that updated Realtek HD version carries similar bug just slightly improved at first then it's same, details below.

I select 5.1 speaker setup with headhpnes disconnected from the Front Panel.
The moment I connect headphones the settings get changed to Stereo Headphones (instead of 5.1 speakers which is expected).
The moment I disconnect headphones the settings revert to Stereo Speakers (instead of 5.1 Speakers which is unexpected).

I hope it clears up the type of problem. workaround is annoying, because I have to manually select 5.1 Speakers every time I disconnect the headphones... can't this software remember somewhere what type the speakers were before headphones were used? 🙂

Maybe disable auto detect jack insertion settings. I'm sure there's something like that in the software!!! Apart from that I think it's a software limitation!!! The very reason I chose my good ol' x-fi and ditched the MVF and went for MVE coz the s/w interface wasn't as good as creative and sound was surprisingly much better in the x-fi than the supremefx iv....esp., the bass!!

Anyways, try the auto detect thing.

hmm ... in my realtek hd panel there is no such thing as autodetection settings ... only pop up setting upon insertion, but it doesn't matter. I guess I will have to live with it for now, manually selecting 5.1 speakers every time I unplug my stereo heaphones from the Front Panel port ...
