So i overclocked my i7 2600k to 4.7ghz and when using my ram (corsair dominator gt 4x4gb 1866mhz @ corsair default 1.5v) its unstable. When i bump up the dram voltage to 1.65v it becomes stable but im running beyond corsair specs for the ram and hitting the max dram voltage for sandy bridge. I can drop the dram voltage to 1.5v for all 4 dimms if i downclock to 1600mhz to be stable as well. 2x4gb 1866mhz @ 1.5v is stable but thatd be only 8gb vs 16gb. Ill be using the rig for gaming. What would u guys do:
4x4gb 1866mhz @ 1.65v (max voltage for sb, above the corsair 1.5v specs)
4x4gb 1600mhz @ 1.5v (stable and running at corsair default voltage of 1.5v)
2x4gb 1866mhz @ 1.5v (stable and running at corsair default voltage of 1.5v but then id be only running 8gb vs 16gb)
