Asus Maximus Vi Hero Supreme FX question ?

Forza
Level 7
Hi,

I have had my rig for a couple of months now and I recently bought some new headphones (Sony MDR V55's) so I decided I will update my audio drivers to receive the best audio quality. On the Asus Maximus Vi Hero (my mobo) website it states that the Motherboard has Supreme FX - which is as good as a dedicated audio card according to Asus. I can see the Supreme FX on my motherboard (it lights up once you turn on the computer) but when I go to device manager I don't see Supreme FX listed. Now I am confused why it isn't showing up and hopefully someone can help.

Kind Regards

Just as Whitepaw said supreme fx is the name they gave it but that's the cluster of hardware on the board itself and the software it runs

The driver is still a realtek audio driver but an updated one lol its not the one from the 90s that most PCs run lol

So to update you would want to see if there is a realtek update as well as a supremefx update, as I believe the support site have them separate but I can't really remember on that

If you have had a Rampage IV Formula, or a older Maxmius board ( Maximus 5 Gene), it should have looked a bit different, but today Supreme FX is a Realtek chip, and not a sounblaster

(someone correct me if i am wrong)

I would have to guess the same Whitepaw as JJ has 2 different videos where he talks down on soundblaster cause how high priced they were/are

As compared to Asus supremefx

The thing in the picture is just the supremefx branded shielding for the audio which again i also believe Is realtek
