Hiya

I wanted to know if anyone has a list of compatible hard drives and SSD's for the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO I have tried contacting asus support and asus tells me the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO doesn't have any defects or issues but I cannot get any hard drives or ssd's to work with the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO so I was curious if anyone here would have a list of compatible hard drives and ssd's that would work with the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO.

Western Digital SiliconEdge Blue SSC-D0256SC-2100 2.5" 256GB I honestly have no idea what controller the drive uses

JMicron JMF612 controller is used on that SSD.

The Sandforce things is not isolated to one vendor but across all makes and brands that use that controller.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Your posts convey the impression that you have tried multiple SSDs and conventional hard drives with the motherboard without success. Yet when asked to list the drives used you reply with a single drive that is 3 1/2 years old and obsolete. Please list any drives you have tried and had issues with that are on the published QVL or that other users have stated they are using without issue. Thank you.

Hmmm... Here is some technical details digged about issue w Haswell 8 series controller and LSI/SF12xx, and slide info about existing fix from ASUS. Is it wrong?

And why issue present on SATA ports controlled by ASMedia?

Yes that is wrong. While a test UEFI was provided for review purposes ASUS has no intent to release the workaround to the public. To do so would make the motherboards non-compliant with Intel specs. That wrongly made assumption should not have been made in that review.

Much more thank's 4 clean descriptions.
As ex.eng and mgr of eng.team uderstand and expressive.

As customer little be adviced wishes:
- Add oficcialy support, and _predictible_not_ supported equipment.
It can help me more accurate to plan upgrade my system wout spend time and nervous dig out root of case.
- Do not accept my current multiplies "press reset" till am see my SSD in POST result.
In my mind, best way - it can be maded by UEFI code, if can be possible customer configuration 4 _that_ SATA port have existent equipment. Try to detect that, till pressed any key from customer, just a sample.
Not ASUS fault, but ASUS can made it more slight 4 customers.
Anyway, thank's and personal respect.

Wow for moderator you are a hardcore troll. what is your problem? Intels bra new line of drives use controllers that are several years old YOU ASUS and INTEL have both conspired together to commit unfair business practice since you are not abled to compete or beat anyone you simple make them in compatible then you tell consumers there is no issue shrug your shoulders off and say what ever there is no QVL list for the motherboard only the secure erase tool

I am glade you are in USA already so that you do not have to be extradited
