Not sure about HDD's. But Sandforce SATA II SSDs are not compatible with the Haswell platform in general.

No motherboards from any manufacturer will work with these drives. If you are wanting to solve this, at a minimum, you could state what drives you have tried, how they were connected and what issues you experienced.
