Asus Maximus V Formula, Fan Xpert II and 3pin fans

Hello 🙂

I have an Asus Maximus V Formula with Fan Xpert 2 installed. The problem is, that my 3pin fans, connected to the case fan connector, are not adjusting to my CPU temp.

Fan Xpert II shows two bubbles, one of the actual fan speed and the other of the fan speed that it should have. The actual fan speed always stays at the minimum I've set over the whole adjustment. So f.e.:
40% speed at 40 degrees
60% speed at 50 degrees
100% speed at 55 degrees
CPU temp: 55 degrees
Bubble for 'should be fan speed' is at 100% speed
Bubble for actual fan speed is at 40% speed



When I select 'automated fan-stop' (hope that's the correct expression, I'm using Fan Xpert in German), the fans turn of completly, independend of the CPU temp. When I set a fix fan speed, it works fine. Only the adjustment by CPU temp does not work.

My fans are:
1x Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition 3pin fan
1x Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition 3pin fan

Nevermind, I restarted my computer and everything works fine again 🙂

LOL all good but that is an important point for others to know. Once you have made these changes in AISuite it is always a good idea to reboot to ensure the bios changes (if any) are executed and saved.
