ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME-Z 3304&3402 BIOS CAUSING I/O Conflict Cant wake from S3

Ticket# 1929831 On install of either bios mentioned in title you will lose the ability to wake the PC from Sleep State. After 2 days of diagnostics test I found the cause. After installing these bios updates.

if you go to device manager and open up Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller and then click on resources tab and look at the bottom where it says conflicting device list it states

"acpi compliant embedded controller Input/Output Range 0066 - 0066 used by: Motherboard resources"

I told the rep everything and the only fix was to downgrade bios to 1004 on second bios chip. Lets see if they fix it..... PS this cause was found under a clean boot with no extra hardware attached. ASUS WE NEED A FIX HERE PLEASE.

Yes, I have the same problem. Funny thing is the item in the Device Manager does not have a yellow sign next to it.

And it wont show with a yellow explanation point as the driver is working fine. It has an IRQ conflict that only ASUS can fix with a BIOS update as we can not assign a device a specific IRQ like on a gigabyte board.... Have you called ASUS yet?

fixed in this version, try it:

PM you..

No good for me even though conflict is gone. Even tried clean boot. after bios 1004 my S3 will not wake. Switching between the two does show a debug code difference. 1004 shows E1 then A0 & finally 30 which wakes the pc on newer bios "anything after 1004" debug code shows E1 THEN A0 never gets to 30..... Please try and solve this with me.....

Thanks

Anthony

With bios's up to 1004,the correct code is AE when system has booted up correctly, now we have the 3 series bios's,the correct code is AO when system has booted up correctly,so where does 03 come into it,????

I thought "03" was entering S3 sleep mode, "30" was waking from S3 sleep mode.???
