Ive been having an issue with this board where it wont boot or post. Its gets stuck on error 15 ive also noticed that the cpu led is on. If i keep hitting the reset button it will eventually boot but once i restart it will do the same thing. Ive tested the ram and the hard drives but ive had no luck. Any ideas? My specs are asus maximus 7 formula, i7 4790k, 16 gb corsair , 2 gtx 760 in sli, evga 1000 watt psu, samsung evo 840 250 gb ssd. And a samsung 1tb hhd.

Yeah you can check for bent cpu socket pins although they should be ok if your pc boots, reseat the cpu and don't over tighten your cpu cooler.

No luck. I flshed the bios and its booted. Then i restarted it and it did the same thing. Tested the ram and it still keeps doing the same thing. It also started giving me error 94. Idk im have to unmount all the water cooling to check the cpu...its kust funky how it randomly boots...

When you took it apart and cleaned it, tell me exactly what you did and how you cleaned it please.

This could be a tough one to narrow down, double check all your cables are secured into place. You can also try connecting the 4-pin cpu power cable.

A while ago i replaced the hydro copper cooler with an ek water block due to that fact that the stock one was anodized aluminum...ek did no sell a block for the M7F so i bought the M6F they had. I modified the vrm block by grinding some acetel and copper of the block so it would fit....it also came with a water block for the south bridge. When i installed it i didnt feel like the block set properly ontop of the chip. I ignored it and just put everything back together...so this time around i took of the block and grinded some of the posts so it would sit lower. This time i did feel the block sit ontop of the chipset. I just tightened the screen dusted the board with a paint brush. I didnt remove the cpu water block. I re mounted the board dusted of the rest of the parts and re assembeled everything. That was the only thing i messed with

Hmmm it's hard to say what happened but something isn't right if it's booting randomly. I know with liquid cooling it makes things more difficult to test.

Since it was fine before cleaning and I don't see a paint brush doing any harm dusting, you might want to take it apart again and set it up as a test bench outside your case with minimal components connected and inspect everything.

I know it's time consuming but I really don't know what else to tell you to try at this point.

so i took it out of the case i checked the pins everything was fine no pins bent...i reflashed the bios it gave me the error code like 2 times i just kept reseting it. it finally booted i just had one stick of ram then i went ahead and tried the second stick. ive reset it like 5 times now and it boots just fine. idk what the issue was. its kinda depressing how tempermental this board has been to me. since ive bought it ive been having minor problems with it. ive always wanted a rog board once i fially saved to get it, it does this to me lol makes me want to steer away from asus. ive never had these problems with evga i got an old x58 board still going strong. idk what could have been the issue. u think the board muight be defective??
