Asus latest Asmedia SATA driver = no TRIM

Heads up: Asus support site for RIVE provides a newer Asmedia SATA driver version V2.0.8.0 (2014.04.09 update)
Previously I had original version V1.3.4.0 (2012.07.05 update) installed.

After updating to the newer driver, TRIM no longer worked on the one SSD I have attached. I rolled back to earlier version 1.3.4, and running a test for TRIM functionality, it reports working again.

Kind of surprising (and frustrating) that the newer driver does not seem to be supporting TRIM.

However, MAJOR DOWNSIDE to rolling back to earlier driver: Asmedia driver 1.3.4 does not recognize plugging in my eSATA external Mediasonic PRORAID enclosure (RAID5) which used port multiplier function. The newer driver DID recognize the PRORAID device and functioned fine when plugged in after Windows already booted up. So I can either have TRIM and lose eSATA function with my storage device, or use the PRORAID the way I want, and lose TRIM on the SSD. :mad:

Unfortunately those 2.0.8.1 drivers don't seem to be TRIM functional either. 😞
