Hi! Last week I updated my BIOS to 4902. I had Aura Sync working flawlessly on my Windows 10 system.
Three days after the BIOS update, the LED lights connected to the mobo stopped working - the Asus Herx bracket and the Arctic Liquid Freeze III RGB, which are plugged into the mobo, stopped glowing. I don't think the BIOS is necessarily the culprit, but it's an interesting coincidence. (Amusingly, the 4080's internal LED for the logo still works as configured.)
The Arctic radiator fans do spin normally, it's just its lighting that's gone out.
Rebooting since then, the lights remain blank. A solid power-off (unplugging) for one hour didn't make any difference either.
The update forced me to re-load my BIOS settings, which I had few customizations so I just manually typed those in, and everything did work fine for a few days since. What else should I be looking at?
BIOS reads:
Ryzen 5950x CPU (not overclocked)
128GB RAM (Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL, DDR4-3200)
Asus TUF-RTX4080 GPU
Thanks!

Quick update and question at the end: I saw some rapid, intermittent flickering coming from the Arctic LF (green) and the Herx (red). Then both lit up solid green for 3 seconds. Then both went back to intermittent flickering again (Herx remained flickering red, Arctic was flickering between red and green randomly between flickers.)
During all this, all of the sensor apps show the CPU under 50C and all fans continue to spin normally, so it's something wonky with the lighting. The radiator fans I am unable to see or verify if they are flickering.
Since then, Herx and Arctic both went dark again. So whatever this is, it's completely random when it flickers and when it goes dormant. And every other hardware function seem to be running quite normally.
Is it worth the attempt to uninstall Armoury Create, rebooting, then reinstalling it? Not sure why it would flake out to begin with.

Another update -- in Armoury Crate's "Sync devices" tab, I had unchecked "Addressable LED strip" since that's what's controlling the Arctic and Herx. This morning, 4 days later, after complete darkness, the Herx and Arctic are doing a rainbow loop. So I went back in and clicked the checkbox to re-enable Smart Aura where these devices glow to corresponding CPU temperature along with the GPU's LED and motherboard panel's. Upon clicking the checkbox to re-enable the strip devices to sync, the Herx and Arctic started erratically flashing green again. CPU temp reported by temperature monitors remains 47C. I unchecked it again. After clicking on various settings (ARGB v1 and v2, others), I noticed the lights went dark again.
Also, the "Set device lighting" only exists for the GPU in the sync menu, I cannot independently change the mobo icon scheme or reach the Arctic/Herx devices independently either.
Is it possible that the motherboard controller is just fine and it's either the Herx or the Arctic that is sending goofy signals down its LED bus and causing just these elements to fail? The fact Armoury Crate continues to control the mobo and GPU LEDs without issue raises questions. I might disconnect one and leave the other just to see what happens...
