Hello i have a question, i just built a new computer, Again trying a RoG motherboard (Brave as i am since last time, i used one it destroyed a psu and a graphic Card 6 years ago) Anyway, here is my issue and hope you can help..

I have Crosshair v formula-z motherboard, Fx9590 processor, R9 290 4gb Ati graphic card, and Cosair vengence 2400mhz 16gb ddr3, Westeren digital velociraptor hdd, and a 1000w NorthQ psu.

Ok here is what i tried.

Tried format, and delete/remake partition, and reinstall Windows 7 64 ultimate 64 bit.. BUT, it freeze after some time (escpecially with Windows update but also with other installers if it is larger install), i only installed the most basic drivers from the cd's, and the temperatures stable..

Plus it runs sluggish when not freezing..

Tried updating drivers, bios, and manually updating Windows via homepages, but still have issues.. it dont give any reports on why it freezes.. and the motherboard shows AA in the code section.
Oh and the hdd is on sata 1 🙂

Hope you can help?

🙂

Ok clearly your CPU is working just fine. Therefore the place I would look for sluggish behaviour is your Hard drive.

With such high end kit that you are using I would use a SSD for my OS every time.

Yeah.. Gonna buy them monday 2 ssd with 120gb for Windows hdd and 500gb for games hdd.. But it kinda annoys me the hdd worked perfect with my old build.. But if it freezes again after i got the ssd hdd, then i gonna rip out the MB and sell it to someone else and buy a asrock MB, the same as my Brothers which works perfectly.. Sorry if i seem negative, but this is the second time a crosshair MB have given me alot of headache.

You need to be content with your hardware mate. And if you are more comfortable with any board go get it. The bottom line is you need to be happy with your stuff.
