Hi I need help diagnosing a problem.
So here's the story; Sunday night me and a friend of mine were playing Payday 2. After we finished I shut down my computer through the Start Menu. Monday evening, when I came home and hit the On button, it powered up but did not send any display of any sorts. So I started looking for the problem. I saw that the dRam led was on and was solid red. I took out the ram cards cleaned them and reinstalled them. Same results. Next I put in my spare graphics card, just in case. Still nothing. I tried resetting the BIOS, by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes with the computer unplugged. Again nothing. I checked my hard drives and they are activating normally and operating as they should. Now I moved on to motherboard inspection. I checked all the caps, the entire board for any heat scaring/damage, nothing obvious was found. At this point I decided to remove all the components and rewire and inspect the CPU and connections. I removed my CPU liquid cooler, and inspected the pins, nothing was found, looks the same as when I put it in 2 years ago. I put it all back together recleaned everything, checked all the connections, and started the computer. Still nothing, no display and the led is still on and solid red. I took a ram card from a friends computer that is known to be good, and tested it in my system, still inoperative.
At this point I've tried all the steps I know, and I'm leaning to a bad motherboard. If anyone knows of any other steps or troubleshooting tests, please let me know before I buy a new motherboard and find out its not the problem. I need to be sure.
My specs are as follows:
Asus Rog Crosshair Formula V
Amd Fx-8150 Bulldozer
G.Skill DDR3 1333 4x4GB
XFX Radeon HD 7970 3GB Double Desperation Black Edition
OCZ Z-Series 1000w 80Plus
