Arne help w/ vtt and vccsa settings please

Arne if you are out there,
I was accuually able to get linx to run with out locking up but it too 8 minutes a run and the cores didn't hit 58 degrees c until 6.3 min in each run.

I am using your guide a bit of Rajahs guide and the video you sent me. Since the RIVF doesn't have all the same setting as the Extreme board things are a bit diffrent. I am using the offset and this has made the board the most stable. Here is what I have an issue with :
VTT CPU Voltage try 1.25
CPU VCCSA Voltage try 1.25
If these voltages get you up and running try reducing them, say by 0.01V at a time, until you become unstable and then bump them up 0.02V
It is worth noting that both of these voltages should be more or less within 0.3V of your load Vcore so, if you are aiming at OCing at say 4.8GHz at 1.45V they should at least be 1.15V even if you appear stable at less.
This is from your guide, while using 42 as my overclock and my memory is DDR 2133, my Vcore is in offset mode I can not make the adjustment to the load line on the Power phase control it is locked to extreme but the cpu Load line cal is at High just to get my power to the cpu up at medium it was 1.312 and at high it is 1.328, offset is @ + CPU Vcore Voltage 0.015 and vtt cpu voltage is @ 1.25 2nd vtt cpu voltage is @ 1.05099, and I set my PLL @1.999 this makes the memory happy.

Do I have thes offsets close or did I go the wrong way? it seems to me that there isn't enough power to the CPU now but the Memory is finnaly happy.

Hey there TheBoatswain!

If you set CPU LLC to High it locks the power phase to Extreme if I remember right and affects current capability too.

But for 4.2 GHz 42 multi x 100 BCLK you should not need to set your LLC any higher than medium. Then you will be able to set Power phases to Optimized and CPU current capability to 120% for example

Is 1.328 the vcore you need for 4.2GHz? If so just set an offset that gives you this in CPUz under medium LLC....you will just have to try a few values to find the right one....but you are on the right track if 0.015 is not enough try +0.02 or +0.025

CPU PLL seems quite high...sure you need this? 1.8 is recommended.

Any way...if your RAM is satble then just bring VTT and VCCSA down to 1.24 each and then 1.23 etc until you are unstable (second VTT leave on auto if i were you) Say you get instability at 1.13v for VTT and VCCSA bump it up to 1.15 for both and done! 1.15 is well within 0.3v of the vcore for your OC....

Arene you are awesome. I have been trying for days after reading your post to me to get the LLC down. (Done)
I will get the PLL back down too. I ran LINX here a few minutes ago and noticed what wsa part of my issue there I just need to know what is the correct setting in setting to set it at, Not AT MAX setting where it leaves the system running with 5megs of mem. Set it at normal use all available mem.
I sure am glad you guys are out there.

Glad I could help! 🙂 just let us know how you're getting on...and ask away if questions come up....there is usually someone around who can throw in an idea...and if not they'll come along eventually..

I haven´t used LINX myself...not a lot anyway...I can't remember settings etc. anyway...

Arne, I was getting now where with LINx for stress testing so I went back to my old faithful Intel Burn Test and it is really stressing the setup and it still took a while to get my first set of numbers but I have seen temps in the 60 with my super water cooling setup which pleased me. It is telling me I am on the right track, now I have to let it run and see if I get matching numbers. If this looks good I will feel better about going higher. The max vcore used is 1.328 @ 42. I change my offset a bit but I may be able to go back down. I am starting to feel like I am working my P67 board that I had at an everyday 4.9. I do want to really thank you very much.
I have been at this for a while but this X79 really threw me for a loop and it forced me to learn more of the technical stuff. When the VA lets me go back to school I think I am going to change my major from Networking to Electronics, a lot of my friends there are working at Intel and places like that now. I will never be able to do that but I will have the degree and just know more after my 31 year Navy career.
I will work on my signature after all the testing. Thanks again
Joe

I just cant believe 1.328 for a Vcore on an 4.2GHZ OC 2011 3930K chip. On my crappy Classified board RMAED 3 times, it fried two sets of Memory and the dam reset button on two of them were stuck on reset and anything over 4.0 had to have 1.4 or greater vcore.

What I can say is that I consider Arne a friend and someone that I feel comfortable with helping folks out. About this forum, well we all have worked really hard at ensuring that each person who visits and posts is treated with respect and welcomed by the regular members and as a result folks are willing to share and ask stuff that on other boards would start flame wars. Respect yourself to respect others is my view. 🙂

You are in good hands and welcome to ROG family.

LOL HiVizMan will make me blush 😮

TheBoatswain/joe..this board is a treasure...it has a lot going on so it can keep you occupied for hours and looks a bit complicated at first but a bit of patience with it and it will reward you...

It always depends on your individual CPU but I would not be surprised if you could shave a bit off your vcore for 4.2 or up your multi a bit....play around...that's what´s fun 😄
