Anyone running 1.65v 2400mhz ram on their RIVE?

Masterbobo

just entertaining the idea of upgrading to faster ram, but my current ram is 2133mhz 1.5v. Was wondering if its solid on 2400mhz 1.65v memory.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2133 1.5v kit that easily OCs to 2400 at 1.65 at the same timings and even to 2448 and very tight timings with a bit more voltage ...for short benching runs not 24/7. For 24/7 1.5v is great and 2133 is way fast enough.

By the way, it is of course the strength of your CPU's IMC that determines if you can run 2400 or not...not really a board thing...the RIVE certainly permits it if the CPU does....

Hi Masterbobo, hi guys,
If you care even the negative experiences .... i can confirm as Arne says if the IMC of the CPU does not run at 2400, there are no timings or voltages that can help you.
I have the your same cpu -ram-Rive, etc., but despite of Vram 1.65v, 1.25 VCCSA timing slow, ecc, I can not turn them over to 2220 MHz. If you're luckier, let me know.

I see, I was considering one of these packages... just cause I have a side build im trying to piece together. Just this 2400 MHz ram is a little trickier to run from what im understanding + the timing are not as tight as my Dominator GT with a 9 latency.. *scratches head*..

There is a formula that can help you in deciding if one kit is faster than the other when the timings are taken into account.

(CAS/frequency) x 2000 gives you a number in nanoseconds for comparing speeds.

So you have your 2133 kit at CAS 9...(9/2133)x2000= 8.43ns 2400 Cas 10 = 8.33ns....so quicker......2400 Cas 11? 9.16ns....maybe not the best idea....

I would OC your RAM to 2400 and see if the IMC is good first and then consider buying if you want another kit...

well it all depends also of the memory you use
i have used with my RIVE psc x/psc t / bbse and Samsung all from gskill and with all i was able to bench at 2200 and or 2400 with a 3820 and 4930, sometimes push the volts sometimes loose the timings i,m no expert just my 2 cents

My 3930k c1 does 4x4gb 2400 c9 G.skill sticks then I overclock them to 9-11-11-31 1t 2500+
I got 2KITS OF 2x4GB F3-2400C9D-8GTXD

I think I killed it though

but in all honesty this thing probably would go faster with c7 2000

Different memory straps are more or less efficient dependant on the type of chips used in the memory sticks. In real world usage there is such a slight different between running at 2133MHz and 2400MHz regardless of the latencies.
