Another crosshair v problem, wont boot

Retired
Not applicable
hi Eveyrone, just purchased a new cross hair v. I switched everything from my existing crosshair iv. Everything was working fine before. I have an AMD Phenom II, G Skill Ripjaw DDR3-1600 (4gbX3), Evga 580. Updated the bios to most current. I tried numerous things with the ram; 1 stick at a time things like that. As soon as it starts to load windows it has a BSOD. I can pause the screeen to read the error. Bios is in default settings. Anyone have any ideas?

Set the memory up like this:

You may need to pull one module of memory and run two sticks in dual channel. May also need more than 1.20V CPU/NB voltage. The 9 series boards are really for Bulldozer rather than older CPUs, if you have no intention of running Bulldozer then the Crosshair IV is a better bet.

why do you have 4gb x3,never heard of a triple channel cross hair 5

i have encountered the similar issue with this board as you do, i run the memory test in single and dual channel mode, and disassemble out all the hardware and put them together again the same thing happen again, at last i gave up and change a new board everything work just fine for me.
