Ai USB 3.0 Boost from MVE CD - cannot uninstall or update

as in topic. when I initially installed this board I used CD versions of all drivers and software that I all updated ... except for USB 3.0 Boost app, it got stuck during uninstall and can't touch it since then ... it was working before, but got broken when I attempted to uninstall old Ai Suite.

I tried uninstalling USB 3.0 Boost app with CD version of AI installer and it hangs on it.
I tried updating it with the latest Ai installer and it hangs on it.
all other apps get updated normally.

My USB 3.0 Boost reports in Ai installer as version 1.02.12, but it doesn't work when anymore when I try to start it (Access Violation error) and I can't remove it (uninstaller hangs on it) or update it to latest version 1.02.13 either (again installer hangs on it).

I tried re-installing and updating all USB 3.0 drivers (both asmedia and intel) or unplugging all devices from usb 3.0 ports, no dice, that app stays as it was ... have I corrupted my Windows while overclocking CPU+MEM recently? [:D

How can I remove USB 3.0 Boost app forcefully (can edit registry if needed), so I can update to the latest version?

You can try to remove the AI Suite, then reinstall the AI Suite 2.00.01 version.

I tried (as I wrote). I cannot uninstall the Ai USB 3.0 Boost component, because the uninstaller hangs on it forever.
I cannot install the updated version of this component either, because again it hangs on it forever.
I DID updated all other components, just not this stubborn one. I guess it's corrupted.
How do I remove it forcefully and manually?

What I would suggest is that you try (if you have not already) to uninstall the application while in safe mode. And failing that use a dedicated application remover tool, there are a couple of good freeware versions or retail applications that have a trial period. They were the only way I could get rid of that AIsuite completely from a build I did.

thanks for chiming in HiVizMan 🙂

I tried uninstalling in Safe Mode, but the Ai Suite installer fails to start when Windows is in Safe Mode. only way to start it for me is while in Windows Normal Mode and here I cannot completely remove the old package of USB 3.0 Boost - uninstaller hangs on it and crashes the app eventually if I click it again, same happens when I try updating this single package with a newer Ai Suite installer.

I'd like to remove it manually, e.g. by editing Windows registry and manually deleting files from hard drive, but I don't know where it sits and all (can search and see what I can do this way though). all other components/packages of original Ai Suite (one that I received on a CD) were "normal" to uninstall or update to latest versions, no trouble with them.

which trial applications did you mean for removing it? I might wipe the whole Ai Suite clean and try again using the latest installer if that's what it takes to fix that one broken package.

Is what I use. And yeah you have to completely remove AIsuite - and unless there is something on that suite that you must have don't ever install it.

it did the trick.

however I ran "sfc /scannow" and it came up my Windows OS files (some of them that is) were corrupted beyond repair ... I guess that was a direct result of recent motherboard swap (same chipset, different vendors) ... have just finished installing fresh Windows 7 and so far so good ... but I used the latest version of Ai Suite II too, not even touching the one on cd 😉
