AI Suite 3 not reading PWM fans on Asus X99 Deluxe

i have some Corsair SP120 PWM fans in a water cooled rig. the motherboard can read the RPM and control it just fine in the BIOS, but once I boot into Windows 10 x64 the fans just full blast and AI suite 3 can't control them. the chart that lets you set the RPM is just grayed out. what do i do with this?
