Adaptive voltage

i7 4770k maximus hero vii
i set 1.260 in bios (x44) and i put all other things like it should be for good oc
but in GAMES adaptive voltage bump it sometimes to 1.32v is this an joke? i understod thinkg like ida but wtf wot or diablo or smite bump me to 1.32? wtf im ask is this freeking adaptive voltage "cewl thing" ever work like it should or what ? its bsoding me sometimes and i dont want to sit on 1.26 all the time .. i'm stable on 1.25 but with adaptive its bsoding on tis settings i think its retardet and not workingb corectly at all

Adaptive is bit funky.
Mostly programs like AIDA64 and Prime95 will override your voltage setting and overvolt it more.
I use adaptive 1.24 +0.001 and its working fine even on rendering programs like Adobe stuff and it never overrides my voltage setting.

In BIOS/UEFI when you set adaptive set "Additional Turbo Voltage" to whatever you want plus offset should be like i have.

BTW in what games it overrides your voltage setting?

Not same mobo as you guys but have similar settings options / bios.

i5 4690k @ 4.4GHz + Asus Maximus VII Ranger, bios settings :-

CPU Core Voltage -> [Adaptive Mode]
CPU Core Voltage Offset -> [0.001]
Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage -> [1.160]

Just below the the "Additional Turbo Mode CPU Core Voltage" it shows final voltage for Turbo Mode, in my case 1.161v.

I have EIST and C States enabled as well.

I've been folding / stress testing and gaming for plenty of hours and my CPU vCore max has been reported as 1.168v in HWinfo logs.

It sounds to me like you don't know how adaptive voltage works..
Like Karlo666 says it will ocasionally override your current voltage settings when your PC demands more power.
There's a few bios tweaks that can prevent or minimize this.

Also if you are BSODing your overclock is not stable and something is wrong probably.

once more : i know exacly how it should work. When cpu use specifick instructions it will give more voltage but it should not happend in games that for sure not use such instructions like WoT or Smite etc. My oc is solid at last on manual voltage its pass 24 h stress test on 1.255 and never pass 65c ( corsair h100i cooling with gelid extreme thermal paste ) its only bsoding SOMETIMES like one time on 2 weeks when its on adaptive . i dont want to run it 24/7 on manual voltage . can u specify what bios settings can help with have more controll over adaptive voltage ?stinoo?
