A2 Debug LED on Motherboard. Looking for IDE when my SSD is SATA III and Red LED BD?

Ok, so i have a customer who just bought the rampage iv formula lga 2011 motherboard, and i have no previous experience with asus boards as i have always used msi motherboards (yeah yeah, i know, but hear me out). i recently made the switch to asus boards because i have heard of the quality these motherboards have. well, i put this together, and i tried to boot up, but i could not even enter the bios. i try pressing delete several times and it still will not boot into the bios. so i go over and look at the debug led and it says "A2" and im getting a red light on the boot device led lights on the side. i look this up in the motherboard manual and it says that it is searching for an IDE connection or something similar to that. the problem with this is that i am using a sata 3 ssd. my question is why is my motherboard searching for an ide connection when my ssd is a sata 3 connection? and on the other hand, why is it that i can not even open the bios? is this going to be a motherboard issue where i have to send the motherboard back and get a new one? please help me out, asus rog members, please! i really do not want to send this motherboard back because i believe that it could be an awesome motherboard for this build!

PC Build Specs:
Intel Core i7 3930k
Asus RoG Rampage IV Formula LGA 2011
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 G.Skill RAM
EVGA GeForce GTX 690
Corsair H100 CPU Cooler
Samsung 256GB SSD (Boot and Data)
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black HD (Data)
Kingwin 1000W Fully Modular 80Plus Platinum PSU

Also: the SSD has windows already installed. i checked to see if this was an issue with the ssd, so i plugged it into my computer, but it installed successfully. i have narrowed the possible issues down to being something not going right on the motherboard, a bad sata cable, or bad sata ports. this problem is not with my power supply either because it is powering everything else just fine.

PLEASE HELP GUYS!!

Where did you connect the SSD? I mean to which controller?

i tried plugging it in to EVERY single sata 3 6gbp/s and 3gbp/s. none of them worked. it worked on my msi board when i installed the os on it. but still, i couldnt even install the os on the rog board because i couldnt even get into the bios

That error code is often the result of a single item of hardware being faulty during the initialisation process. It could be a cable, but what I have most often found it is the optical drive that is playing silly buggers.

What I normally do is swap out the SATA cable and swap out my power connector to a different string of connectors to remove the possibility of the power delivery as being the cause.

What de-bug lights are on, and what colour are they?
