A BIOS and DC related question

Hello!

I know this question has probably been asked quite a bit but I'm only asking to double check as my case is a bit "special".
I'm currently running the 4670k but I've got a 4790k laying here somewhere - now, I'm aware that I have to do a BIOS update on my Maximus VI Hero board to get the *new* CPU to work, BUT my current BIOS is the very very first one that it shipped with, the 0224 BIOS(oops!).

So now my question is should I update straight to 1505 or to something below the 1505 BIOS series before attempting them, and also, if I were to go for 1505 straight away, should I do the update in windows first(read I need to do that to get some CPU microcode) and then in the UEFI or is it safe to just update it in windows once and be done?

I'm asking because all the threads I could find related to this were running bios 0804+

Sorry for yet another BIOS thread... but hope ya'll can help out!

Hello

You can update directly to v1505. Please see the thread linked below for the proper updating procedures.
