9590 unstable on Formula-Z

So I bought 9590 and wont go higher than 4.7GHz... wont even go to turbo on auto..
When clocking the CPU to 4.8-4.9-5.0 the computer freezes up and need to do a hard reset.
This only happen with the 9590 not the 9370 (which i can clock to 4.9GHz).

Is there something wrong with this chip?
I have runned memtest (nothing wrong), reinstalled OS, changed CPU (had no problems there).
The temps are pretty decent because i have pretty good case.


Do I need to RMA this, need a quick answer so I dont end up with a broken CPU.

Yes, otherwise I would have issues with the 8120 and 9370.

Not necessarily - I ran the 8350 @ 4.8GHz using just the 8 PIN

I had the same problem when I updated my BIOS. I changed my settings back to default and used the step-up function, one step at a time.

Took the values and went from there, Stable at 5.2GHz but 5.5GHz and you need to monitor temps carefully.

I have done the same thing... but when the turbo wont even kick in when everything is at default/auto then there isnt any tweaking that would improve stability.. Tried almost everything, BIOS OC and still wont work properly.

From DIGI +VRM there is an option called cpu over current protection just adjust it to 140% it will extend the OC range and gives the cpu more
power

Agreed and important, Forgot to mention that! Took me quite a few reboots too to get it right.
