If you click on the question mark on the side of the GPUz PCIe lane indicator you will see your system power up and the actual PCIe lane usage displayed. What is happening is a built in power saving feature. Give it a try and let me know.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

yea run furmark and see it change to 3.0

Shimano,

You did address part of his concern.
What about the x8?
I am very curious about this.

Also, My GTX 680 is running in 2.0 and I would like to know if there is a BIOS update because I read something on Tech power up which said Some motherboard manufacturers have released an SBIOS update to run 3.0.

It also stated that the pre release drivers did enable 3.0 but were unstable. And the release drivers on Nvidias site does not support 3.0?

Any word?

300.83 will enable 3.0
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4282445

when you oc bclk/pcie to 105 the card becomes unstable and cannot enter OS with 3.0

This problem seems to hang around no matter what. I am xfiring my two dcu2t 7970s and the card in slot 1 reads as x8 3.0 whereas the card in slot 2 reads x16. No idea what is happening and i can't seem to find any settings directly related to this in the bios, which i'm using 1305 version of. The simulator for the PCI lanes in the bios says that it should be x16 3.0. This is really weird. I should also say that even though the card in slot 3 is running at x16 3.0, gpu-z reports that it has a bandwidth of 32GB and a bus width of 32 bit as opposed to the first card with a bandwidth of 269GB and bus width of 384 bits.

What the hell is going on with these cards. They just keep geting better and better:mad:

UPDATE: Just benchmarked the card with heaven dx11 on max settings. The issue with the bandwidth/ bus width corrects whilst running however i just realised that the second card in slot 3 runs at x16 1.1 mode not 3.0. How about that eh. Time for RMA and upgrade to twin 690GTX dcu2T's........

i also have this problem AND my card is the 7970 DC2TOP card which WILL NOT run more than 3 monitors regardless of configuration.

3 screens now and then i get a sort of screen flicker but i do mean now and then and i think thats game or driver issue. but it says on the box its 6 screen ready, so there for i should ne ok to run 4 or 5 or 6 screens in eyefinity mode but i cant.

ideas ?

You'd think so about the 6 screen ready stuff ay! I cam tell you now it's all driver related, there is no other solution or answer. I've got 2 27" Monitors going and the artifacts in some games make it completely unplayable/unimmersive and for cards of this tier they should be up to scratch. OMG... Starting to lose the plot here... Nvidia here i come i think.

Nvidia is not the solution, i got a 680 and thats got issues with drivers in some games.

its software or hardware either way its not funny. was trying to play COD MW1+2 and punkbuster kicks me for all sorts of crap to do with drivers and 3D something or other so yeah drivers suck right now, Asus need to address that cos it will lose them sales

True man, i haven't tried the 680's but now you told me that well yeah, we stuffed either way. It's not only ASUS it's also AMD and their drivers, again as i say, overmarketed hardware before the software is done properly.

You know something, a moderator hasn't got back to us on this thread for quite a while now, i wonder of it is gulit hahaha LMAO.
Someone said this earlier, these card are lovely. You hold them in your hand and expect the world, but so far i've only seen an atlas. Go figure.....

EDIT: I was just re-reading this and i must say my apologies to the moderators if i have offended by this comment, because my RoG stuff is sweet as, namely my RIVE, Phoebus and Vulcan, but i must say that @ASUS, you need to fix this card.
