670 Direct II SLI advice

Hi everyone,

I am a total noob when it comes to SLI so posting here for advice.

I have the Maximus V Forumla motherboard.
I7 overclocked to 4.5
A GTX 670 Direct II GFX card.

Battlefield 4 is just a few weeks away. I was thinking of getting a second 670 direct II for SLI.
Should I use them in slots 1 + 2 or will 1 + 3 be OK (thinking of heat)

Will there be enough space to fit both the cards in slots 1 + 2 if this is the optimal position?

Anyone out there had two of these cards with this board that can offer advice please?

Case = bitfenix colossus
current cooling = H100i with 2 x SP120 High Performance Edition fans
1x 140 mm rear
1x 230 mm front
1x 140 mm bottom
2x 120 mm side

Welcome to the Republic of Gamers forum, Ath3na32.

The optimal slots to use for a 2 way SLI configuration are the 2nd and 5th slots. Don't worry about the heat since there's an empty slot of breathing room between your GPUs. Besides, the you have enough cooling to make sure that they are always getting enough air. 😉
