2100+ memory speed + Thuban + CH5F a reality

As some of you probably know, I was ready to box this board up and sell it.
I just couldn't reach the overclock levels that I achieved with my trustworthy CH4F.
I decided to stick with the board mainly because is supports SLI and has the awesome EFI bios.

Talk about a huge learning curve, I have finally reached some overclocking milestones with this board.
One of which was a 4.2GHz stable overclock with my 1090T, best I could do with the CH4F was 4.15GHz.
And now, I'm running my RipjawsX very close to it's rated 2133 speed:

This is my 24/7 overclock, 100% stable with AIDA64, HyperPi (32M), and BF3.

I'm now a believer and absolutely love this board, will hold off on that Intel build for a while.

I bought this 1090T from a friend who had it up to 5.9GHz with N2 cooling on a CH4F.
He was also running an insane CPU/NB overclock at like 4200MHz or so.
Doubtful that I can achieve 4.3GHz+ with a higher end Corsair Hydro setup.
Only way to achieve 4.2GHz+ is with a custom water cooling system (and not some cheapo kit).
Another friend runs his 1090T@ 4.6GHz with only 1.475v using a high end water cooling setup.

I'm actually going to do some testing with the PCI-E bus in the 106-108MHz range.
Have seen some benchies/reports where it helps to increase bandwidth & stability with SLI & Crossfire setups.
The other side of the coin, overclocking the PCI-E bus does little ot nothing.

I want to see it for myself, deny or confirm once and for all.

It is in the learning curve..I see the new buyers in with the exact same
questions we all asked when the board first arrived..... patience.

Congrats...enjoy.c.

o_O 5.9Ghz & 4.2Gnz for CPU/NB? Awesome! But I'll try to oc my 1090T to 4.2-4.3Ghz with H100. I think it works fine, because now with 4.1Ghz the core temps are running at max 48° (with folding@home). I also wish you a lot of fun what you will have for sure ^^.

Btw. it explains why your 1090T is running with 230w ^^
