What's the Best motherboard with the Mars II

Retired

Hi all first post on here. My question is: What's the best or most user friendly motherboard to go with the Mars 2 from Asus? My friend said that the EVGA X58 SLI is great but I actually want to keep it in the family as my ram everything is ASUS.

Hope this was not a stupid question.

Bill, Let me be the first to say Welcome to the ROG Forum to you..enjoy your stay.

Now, that said, Guess what I am going to answer?

Right !!!
(I knew you were sharp.)

And that makes us both right !!!

(You didn't say whether you preferred AMD or Intel.)

Welcome to the board, as you want a Mars II, and with this GPU I guess you want the best CPU too.. If you want to purchase now the Maximus IV extreme or (Z) are good candidates pair with a 2600k . . In few months that will be a different story with the new release Intel will bring to the market soon. And with those boards you still have upgradability to the Ivy Bridge release at the start of 2012 ( With Intel at least we know when to expect, and what to expect )

This is the confirmed truth at the very least until we get the final BD benches. Then we will see if things change.

Cyrekk I'm gone give you my 2 cents on Intel, they are ready for the next generation of their CPU, and the one after, and they work on the one after the after one , but they don't release yet because their actual CPU are selling well. So it's the market who make them release new CPU , not the technology , they are ready. If AMD release a CPU with let say 10% more capacity than SB, Intel will release one with 30% I know they can make one way more powerfull, but they wait as long their CPU are selling no need to give to much. AMD , well they try to catch up, so not the same story..... Intel make a mistake to let AMD get closer in the past, they will not do it again.

I am just saying that nothing is in stone. I would expect Intel to beat BD with Ivy Bridge I simply don't know for a fact that they will. Only time will tell for sure.

Thats right Bill, and as long as the board wears the black and red of ROG
you will have the best board for whatever cpu you choose...

The fact of the matter is no matter what cpu,,,AMD or Intel...the day
that cpu comes out...it is still consumer grade and at the very least
5 years behind top level military grade, as all consumer electronics are.

Its fun to back and forth, stronger, faster, smarter.....they all ROG in
the right board.c.

Thanks guys for all the replies,

I'm in Taiwan they only 2 for the hole Island. Now for some reason Taiwan is very slow when it come to getting new product even know it's Asus is Taiwanese. I went to the store and they have yet to come out with any of the new Rampage III Black Edition or Crosshair V Formula/ThunderBolt. SO I'm running the Asus MAXIMUS III FORMULA right now and I was wondering if this board is great for the Mars 2 VGA card?
