Strange issue with 1070 Strix RGB LEDs

So I've had my Asus Strix OC GTX1070 since November of 2016. All of the RGB LED's worked perfectly fine when I got the card, and I've had no issues otherwise with the performance of the card. However, I noticed yesterday that the RGB LEDs seemed to only be partially functioning on one end of the card. Here are some pictures: The first picture is what the card looked like after installing it (properly functioning RGB LEDs), and the second picture is what it looks like now (RGB LEDs only working on one side.

Anybody have an idea of what I could do to fix this? I tried reinstalling/updating the Asus AURA program, GPUTweak, and GPU BIOS, all to no avail. The card performs perfectly fine, no overheating/fan issues, no performance loss in games, etc.

I just want to know if there is some simple fix that I'm completely missing, or if there is no way to fix this. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Anyone have a guide on how to take off the cover and replace it?

There is a video link on a couple pages back shows the whole tear down process.

We have also 1 card with the same issue. a 1080ti. is no the led. Since we do not have a Asus service center. I have to get another front facia plastic to make a change and give that one to my friend. I am trying to get one but no where to get one. I will tell the guy to order that part from amazon and see what we can do. Here in Panama once pass the year of warranty is a pain. taking that out is just 6 screws and have to be done easy since 3 of them are in the back of the fans.

pictures where bad. but yes was the tubes. on these post, there is a link for it. With a lot of care you remove the tube. We find out that the tubes where crystallize, and on one side was hard to remove, so take extra care so does not brake the plastic housing.

Did not feel broken but i put a light with my phone, and light does not pass. Ones we replace the tube and cut and add it. the trick is to install it and cut until is almost touch the led diode there is a shape that fan housing you have to lay down the tube flat until it reach to the led diode. Make small cuts until. there is a plastic U shape with a foam. Do not make direct contact with the led. but just barely. it was a easy fix. take you time on these and do NOT force removing the old tube. The new tube is a night and day difference.

The one we order was these one. the 4mm diameter. I will try to find a 5mm to test if it fit since, inserting the tube on the other side of the pastic housing was a little lose, but was a extact fit on the hard plastic on the side of the led. I use a verner caliper and is almost the same size diameter, maybe the heat expand the old tube? no idea. The old tube, maybe, cause of heat stain and expand. has a yellow color ihs. I try to clean it but does not make any diference.

The guy was happy with that comes alive.

Boys I need your help.

I did the repair (replacing the clear tubes) but now the red led does not work. Green and blue work fine. When I put the following values in Asus Aura;
R 255
G 0
B 0
I get no light. Although the backplate logo does light up correctly.
I tried uninstalling all Asus software and using DDU for the graphic driver and no luck. Thanks in advance guys.*

Well, looks like you got faulty RGB LEDs. The only way is to replace then, unfortunately...
