So is the Matrix 580 Limited Edition?

90% of places I checked before my purchase was out of stock, or the product has been discontinued. Kinda strange since I believe the product has only been out since August/September?

Novatech in the UK had 1 in stock and they said they were getting more in when it sold the other day, but I checked just after that and it says on their website it's been discontinued. As have many other websites.

Anyone know why shops have stopped selling it? Was it a limited edition card or was there another reason for the lack of stock everywhere?

I am asking incase I want to go SLI next year with 2 of these cards or the year after and I am wondering if I will be able to do that.

I intend on getting another one and going Sli Early next year as well. I hope they will still be in stock and available.

Someone ping me a PM so I remember to shoot an email to the UK and US teams on Monday. The platinum was limited edition simply because there were not enough of those GPUs to make the MHz cut, but afaik the MATRIX isn't yet discont. I would strongly advise buying sooner rather than later if you can find one, because as soon as NV launches a new chip the source of current high-end ones dries up quick. (same with AMD tbh)

Dear All:

PM just told me the Matrix 580 is now EOL. They have VERY limited stock left globally. If you want one buy one soon.

What's EOL? - (At a guess that means, ..End of Line?)

And... What will happen if we ever need to RMA the card and get a replacement?

Is it just the Matrix P cards, or will the Matrix (Normal) still be available next year?

Thanks Marshall

Question, is there a diff between the Matrix Platinum and a Matrix that does not have the "P" to denote platinum at the end of the sku? Also if there is a difference between the two Matrix cards is there any visual indicators of the difference on the card itself?

When going over the ordering of my card with the shop i deal with they mentioned that there was a price difference between the two cards. I cancelled the first order as the rep mentioned the one i was getting was not denoted with a "P" on the box or in the sku. I reordered the card and insisted that i would not accept without the platinum reference. My card did have "P" in the sku and again written on the box. I paid the same as the Matrix without the Platinum in the sku.

Im still confused and this is the first time ive heard there was two different versions since that time. Its sad for me as ill not be able to afford another Matrix to sli with. I could ebay and hope for the best but at these price points i like to buy new. I was planning on another when the new cards came out next year.

Whats EOL?

Super happy with my card. Now that it is getting cold out i plan on moving the pc outside for some sub zero runs. With a little modding i can get my Matrix to start a 18c and sit at 22c, gaming never goes over 50c at stock speeds/volts. When the new GPU Tweak is released im hoping for more from my card. Benchmarks at 1017 easy (max volts) and i can run the Heaven 2.5 loop (not benchmark) at 1067 without crashing drivers. When it hits -20 or lower this baby will be getting worked WOOT

I better hurry and order a second card for SLI before they are sold out.

I hope I dont get in trouble for this

I am finishing up my review of the MATRIX 580 Platinum; my review is being proofed by ASUS US who furnished the card for this review.

I will be offering it up on eBay as soon as the review is published. The card is a great card and nothing wrong with it but I am will sell it so I can pick up a set of ATI cards so I can show CF or SLI in my motherboard reviews.

If you are interested please PM me, but only if you reside in the US.

I am not trying to sell anything on the forum but I would like to make another member happy before I go to auction.

Since no one answered my question... hopefully someone might 🙂

What will happen if we ever need to RMA the card, 1 or 2 years down the line and need a replacement?
