RTX 4070 SUPER OC hight hot spot temps

Hi,

I've got Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER OC 12GB GDDR6X (TUF-RTX4070S-O12G-GAMING) installed in Asus TUF Gaming GT502 + 3 fans on bottom that suck in air, one fan on back to pull out air, 3 fans on side to suck in air and finally 3 fans on top from aio that pull out air.

My card was buy on 07-2024 and i didn't notice any problems with it but when i play PoE 2 in 2K in 150-160 fps the temps on hot spot spikes to 100C. The base temp are ok and are near 73C. Fans are working fine and spins to 75% in load since base temps are not that hight. Last time i've got simmilar problem when playing Diablo 4 but after some updates from Blizzard that aim to fix performance problems now it works great and hot spot is not reaching 90C under same settings as PoE2.

I know that PoE2 is new game + in early access so some bugs/performance problems are common but i'm not sure is it safe to play in that conditions. Its not that it is working like that all the time (in town usage spikes but on field its working ok). Drivers are up to date (they just release new with included PoE2 dedicated settings. I'm using GPU Tweak III to set up build in OC profile (not the one that scan performance) and to monitor temps i'm using hwinfo.

Someone got any suggestions about this situation? I don't wanna cook my GPU but i really don't wanna give it back for warranty or even try to repaste. Since D4 was having same problems but it was fixed by update i'm aiming for same problems for PoE2 and maby lowering settings will lower hot spot temps till time they will fix it

I found a quick solution for that problem - changing defoult NIS upscaling method in PoE2 options to Nvidia, reduced hot spot max temp. Still it is 94C but i will give some time for them to fix it. At least now i can play somehow 😛

Another solution for my problems was to disable that GPU Tweak III OC profile (change it back to defoult) a now with all that hot spot is not going more then 90C

Hello, did you solve the  problem with high HotSpot temperature?

I have the same problem (RogStrox 4080 Super OC), HotSpot temperature spikes above 110-112 °C

Hi @Bravoland

It's my first time on this forum,  it's very nice that you answer questions so quickly!!!

I bought a new GPU 5-6 months ago, it has a warranty, I'm afraid to damage it.

No worries! Yeah, I get that 100%. Contact CS via ROG Care and they should be able to assist you 👍

Thanks for the help.

I'll try to send my GPU to the warranty service.
