random black screen & 100% fan RTX 3080

Hello,

i got a issue with my Asus TUF RTX 3080 10G OC.

sometimes i get in some game's after a few minutes a black screen and the fans are very loud. I suspect its a thermal issue because whem i test with furmark i see in HWmonitor that the Hotspot temp rises realy quick to 100 and the my screen go's black with the fans at 100%.

and the funny thing is that i can run some games without any problems, like rocket league, SoT, Cities Skylines II

I dont run overclocks on my card, its on the defauld settings via gputweak, i ran also msiafterburner(without gpu tweak installed on my system) before with the stock settings and the same problem.

i am on vbios 94.02.42.40.66 (Version V4 on the rog site from 2021/04/08)

I recently have been running i to the same issue. I recieved a message saying the UEFI couldnt recognize the vga card even though computer was working fine. Updated to the nvidia 1.2 and now at random times the screen goes black and fans goto 100%. Have since updated evey other driver and mobo bios and it is still happening. 
system components are

ROG crosshair darkhero viii

AMD 5900x

Corsair Dominator 3600mhz, 32g

Asus ROG Strix 4090

Asus ROG Strix  ThorII 1200w psu

have even done a complete windows reinstall and problem still persists.

I however havent had the thermal issue gpu stays between 45-50 degrees while gaming.

mine is hovering around 85 deg on hotspot, i ajusted the fancurve more aggresive so its not overheating

Hi @Pectacq 

Have you considered repasting the GPU? over 100c hotspot would indicate that the the thermal paste has broken down.

that wil be a option but what thermal paste is good for this, i have a small tube nh-1 paste from my cpu cooler. And do i need to replace the pads also? if yes, with thermal pads do i need?
