Hi guys,
I'm an IT retailer and system builder and I'm currently wanting to add an extreme gaming rig to my list but I'm not sure about the power supply required to run the system.
Below is the system I have in mind. I would be greatfull for any advice regarding this issue. The PSU brands I have access to are Coolermaster, Corsair, Antec and Zalman.
System:
CPU = i7-2600K - overclocked
CPU cooler = Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU cooler
Motherboard = Asus Maximus IV Extreme (P67-B3) LGA1155
RAM = 16Gb DDR3-1600 Corsair Vengeance Low Profile Arctic White 1.35V - overclocked (LP used due to huge CPU cooler)
VGA = 2x Asus MARS II Quad SLI - overclocked
Case = Coolermaster HAF-X
SSD = 1x Corsair 90Gb Force GT SATA6G
HDD = 1x WD Caviar Black 2Tb SATA6G
DVD = Asus 12x Blu-ray writer
I have seen the ROG video on youtube where the MARS II Quad SLI is benchmarking and the test setup uses a Corsair AX1200. That is the PSU I currently have configured for the system but I'm wondering whether it would be enough to power all the overclocking?
Any recommendations out of the above mentioned PSU brands available to me? Should I go dual PSU? If so what case would be suited for 2x PSU (available case brands: Lian-li, Antec, Corsair, Coolermaster, Zalman).
Also, any recommendations on the above system itself are welcome 🙂
Thanks a mil in advance.
