I am running SLI 1080 Ti STRIX OC cards, and when playing certain games or while in VR when the bottom card is not being stressed very much, the fan will go from being off to on then off then on again, etc. Every time the fans start up the card makes a small buzzing sound that almost sounds like an old mechanical hard drive seek sound, you know the sound I mean. That tiny grinding noise from the head seeking data across the disc.
Is this defective and should I worry about it, or is this normal behavior for these card while in SLI? When I am playing a game that fully uses SLI and both cards are hot, the fans come on and spin fine. It's silent. It's only when they pulse on/ off that the sound happens.
